CSU Blue scored a 10-0 win over the Fillies on Saturday on the back of a strong defensive effort throughout the match.
Now the team backs up this Saturday for a meeting against their Yellow club mates, where Blue will hope to score the upset victory.
Blue captain Jasmine Lagudi was proud of the way her side held an enthusiastic Fillies squad scoreless in the meeting at Portland.
"It's was a very aggressive game and Portland really wanted that win but our defence was bulletproof," she said.
"That was great to see from us and it sets us up with a nice platform to build off for this weekend. The competition this year has been really close so it was really great to come away with this win."

All of Blue's points over Portland came during the opening half.
CSU were expecting the Fillies to bounce back hard from their 32-4 trouncing at the hands of Yellow a week earlier, and that's what they got.
Blue turned up ready for the onslaught and they were able to turn good defence into useful possession.
Caitlin Treble and Bonnie Flannery each crossed for tries in the opening term and Lagudi kicked a conversion.
"We're a team that just plays what's in front of us," Lagudi said.
"I feel like we're a great team at adapting to changing defences."
Lagudi and her squad are ready to wear the underdog tag with pride at Diggings Oval.
"Everyone's really stoked to get stuck in this weekend. It's going to be a close game," she said.
"Every year Blue's been the underdog team. Hopefully this year we can step up and show what we're made of.
"This game's about staying composed. When you play a team that's part of the same club you're all friends off the field but that really amps up the competitive side when you're on the field.
"Having the home support is a big game changer. There's always a lot of support around the boys games but to have everyone come down early and make it a big day creates a really good atmosphere.
"It could be really interesting too, with the snow that's been forecast for the weekend."
It's a bumper grand final day for CSU with the men's side set to face Orange Barbarians later in the day.
