PASSENGER numbers were down slightly over the past 12 months but nearly 18,000 people still boarded the Bathurst Bullet at the Keppel Street station, figures show.

Data from Transport for NSW shows 17,802 passengers boarded the Bullet at Bathurst in the past financial year - an average of 1483 a month or 49 a day.
That was down, but only marginally, on the 18,377 passengers who boarded the Bullet at Bathurst in the 2017-18 financial year - an average of 1531 a month or 50 a day.
For the return journey, 10,142 people got off the Bullet at Bathurst in the 2018-19 financial year, which was an average of 845 people a month or 28 a day.

That was also down on the 11,018 people who got off the Bullet at Bathurst in the 2017-18 financial year, which was an average of 918 people a month or 30 a day.
Transport for NSW says its figures are for all passengers boarding or alighting the Bullet at Bathurst, which might include those who did not travel all the way to Sydney or travelled back to Bathurst from stations other than Central.
As Bathurst prepares to get its second Bullet daily return train service to Sydney, which is due to start on September 16, the Transport for NSW figures show January and November were the two most popular months for boarding the Bullet at Bathurst in the past 12 months.
There were 1608 passengers who boarded the Bullet at Bathurst in November 2018, an average of 54 a day, and 1759 passengers who boarded at Bathurst in January this year, which was an average of 57 a day.
December 2017 and January 2018 were the two most popular months for boarding the Bullet at Bathurst in the previous financial year.
