The Theo Barker Memorial Lecture will be held at BMEC at 6.30pm. This free public lecture is co-hosted by Bathurst District Historical Society and Bathurst Regional Council. Oberon's Accidental Ensemble will present Baby, lt's Cold Outside -The Weather in Revue, a musical romp through the seasons, with tongue firmly in cheek, in the Robert Hooper Community Centre, Oberon. Tickets are for sale at Arrows Newsagency, Oberon.

Rockabilly Café Bathurst NSW will hold its grand opening at its new location on the corner of George and Keppel streets. As well as a car meet, there will be dancing, an Elvis tribute show by Glen Vass (Elvass), a Rockabilly catwalk, jumping castle for the kids and pop-up stores from Well Educated Sailor, Lipsense, Mellyn Beauty, Cosventure and Team Shannons Central West. The activities will begin at 8am.
Mini steam trains will be running in Durham Street, across from the Adventure Playground, from 11am-3pm. Covered shoes must be worn. Tickets: $2. Call 6331 5798.

The Blayney Farmers' Markets will be held in Carrington Park from 8.30am. The markets feature seasonal fruit, vegies, fresh organic meats, cheeses, eggs and much more. The markets are held on the third Sunday of every month, rain, hail or shine.

The Macquarie Care Centre Auxiliary is enjoying another year of fundraising and always welcomes new members to meetings. Join the members for afternoon tea after the meetings, which are held the third Wednesday of each month at 2pm in the St Vincent's Function Room, Gormans Hill Road. The next meeting will be held on August 21.
Come along to a workshop at Rankin Cottage on August 25 from 10.30am to noon and learn how to do candlewick embroidery. Candlewicking is a form of embroidery that traditionally uses an unbleached cotton thread on a piece of unbleached calico.
