During Education Week, students and staff at Eglinton Public school took the time to thank all their hard-working school community helpers.
The theme for 2019 Education Week was "Every Student, Every Voice". This theme communicated how public schools are equipping young people with the skills and capabilities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing, globalised world.
Everyone at the school celebrating this important week by thanking the people who generously give their time to help at the school. This month, they held a special afternoon tea for all their helpers and volunteers.
This gave everyone the opportunity to gather around and thank the mums who help with reading, helping in the school canteen, OOSH, at the Country Fair, those on the P & C, scripture teachers and garden club volunteers.
Everyone was entertained by the senior choir and enjoyed afternoon tea prepared by the staff. The students from Stage 3 set themselves the task of engaging in random acts of kindness throughout Education Week.
The students developed a grid of goodness and worked through their acts of kindness to help members of the school community.
Principal, Vicki O'Rourke said everyone at Eglinton Public school wanted to thank all their volunteers for sharing their skills and knowledge.
"Our volunteers make such a positive impact on our school life," Ms. O'Rourke said.
