Heidi Elizabeth Marshall, 31, of the Women's Health Refuge, appeared briefly before visiting magistrate Roger Prowse in Bathurst Local Court on Tuesday.
It is alleged the robberies occurred just hours apart.
Marshall's solicitor, Fiona Sams, made no application for bail, instead requesting the accused be assessed at a psychiatric institution.
Ms Sams said her client had only been released from a mental health facility two weeks ago.

Marshall, who sat handcuffed in the dock during proceedings, did not enter a plea to the charges against her or make an application for bail.
Police allege the first armed robbery occurred at 9.30pm on Monday, August 19, when Marshall, allegedly armed with a knife, entered the service station and threatened the store assistant before making off with $330 in cash and cigarettes.
It is further alleged that at 1.30am, on Tuesday, August 20, Marshall entered the same service station and, armed with a knife, threatened the store assistant, taking $130 in cash.
The first time, police allege Marshall left the scene in a car. When police returned at 1.30am, however, it is alleged that Marshall was found in the coolroom and was arrested.
Marshall was subsequently charged with two counts of robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
Mr Prowse formally refused bail, adjourning the matter until October 14, with Marshall to appear via audio-visual link.
