FOR the first half of the Blowes Clothing Cup season Adam Plummer could be considered one of Bathurst Bulldogs' hard luck stories, but on Saturday afternoon at Ashwood Park his rugby fortunes could not have been better.

Plummer was part of the Bulldogs outfit which won the grand final in front of a bumper home crowd, holding off Orange Emus by three points in a thriller.
"I'd almost set my standard a bit lower this year. I played a bit of footy and had a couple of setbacks - I got king hit at the pub and then I rolled my ankle and didn't play for the first half of the season," Plummer said.
"But I got back in, I was lucky enough to keep my spot and I couldn't be prouder to win a grand final.
"It was an awesome team to be a part of, awesome coaches and an awesome club. This is just so good."
Plummer fought his way back into the first XV a fortnight out from the finals, taking his place in the centres in a match the Bulldogs won against Emus at Ashwood Park.

He did enough in that match to retain his spot the following week when Bulldogs downed Cowra, then went on to start in both the major semi-final and Saturday's decider.
It meant he was part of just the third Bathurst Bulldogs' top grade premiership winning outfit in the last 20 years and first since 2010.
He understood the significance of that achievement and rated it his finest in a Bulldogs jumper.
"We've been working hard for that all year, it was 17 years since we last had a home grand final. It was so good to win and give something back to the club," he said.
"That's the hardest game of footy I've ever played in my life, my body is just so sore.
"I won a colts premiership back in the day and that was special, but this has set the bar higher again.
"That calibre of players you're playing with and against, some of the experience they've had and the games they've played, I'm lucky to be a part of it."
