Police confirmed the evacuation but could not elaborate on the reasons.
But a number of social media posts suggested there had been a bomb threat made after 4pm during a Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing Club meeting.

Racing NSW Stewards Tweeted at 4.30pm that there had been an "indefinite delay" at Tyers Park but also did not expand on the reasons.
Police were called to Tyers Park and conducted an investigation and have now cleared the way for racing to recommence.
"I can confirm there has been an incident which caused a delay in the last race but the incident has been cleared," Chifley Police District duty officer Chief Inspector Glenn Cogdell said.
