STANDING on the podium as winner of the Bathurst 1000 in 2003 and again in 2004 and hoisting the trophy in front of thousands of cheering fans - they are moments which will long live in the memory of Rick Kelly.

In the almost 16 years which have followed, Kelly has won over many more fans at Mount Panorama - he's signed more autographs and posed for more photos than he could count - but he has not been able to give them another victory to cheer.
Come this October when Kelly lines up for his 19th appearance in the Bathurst 1000 he will again be hunting for that chequered flag, but before he even does his first warm up lap he will share a unique moment with his fans.
It is because Kelly Racing and Castrol are giving fans the opportunity to choose the livery that will feature on his #15 Nissan Altima. It will be to help celebrate the oil giant's 100th birthday in Australia and New Zealand.
In last year's edition of the Great Race, Kelly's Altima carried a Castrol Racing tribute livery to mark the 25th anniversary of Larry Perkins' 1993 triumph.
"Larry is a real legend of our sport and a lot of his most famous moments were at Bathurst," Kelly said at the time.
"To win three times in five years is a remarkable performance. This livery is a definitely a fan favourite and something I am honoured to be racing in."
Though he was hungry to pick up a win of his own in a car carrying the 'saw tooth' design, Kelly ended up in 14th with co-driver Garry Jacobson.
That 'saw tooth' design is one fans could very well see at the Mount again this October as it is one of eight shortlisted historic Castrol Racing Bathurst liveries they will be able to vote for.
"Bathurst is a really special place for myself and the guys at Castrol, they were there with me when we won two in a row back in the early days, so it's really cool for us to pay tribute to an iconic Castrol Bathurst livery this year and continue Castrol's 100 year birthday celebrations," Kelly said.
"Last year we did the iconic saw tooth Larry Perkins Castrol livery and the response we had from the fans around that was incredible, everybody loved it, so now we're going one step further and putting our livery decision process in the hands of the fans and get them involved.
"I'm sure no matter what they pick ... it'll look really cool on the Nissan Supercar and I can't wait to reveal at the top of Mount Panorama."
This is the first time that a Supercars team has involved the fans in deciding its Bathurst livery to this extent.
As well as the livery Perkins had when claiming three chequered flags at Mount Panorama, Russel Ingall's 'Silver Bullet' and the #6 Castrol Edge Ford Performance Racing Falcon driven by Mark Winterbottom are also on the short list.
The first four-car poll will be launched at 7pm on Thursday.
The winner of this vote will go through to a final against the winning livery of the round two vote. Fans can vote via the Kelly Racing Facebook page or by visiting the Bathurst Livery Fan Vote landing page on the Kelly Racing Website.
Then the final winning retro livery will applied to Rick Kelly's Castrol Racing Supercar, which will be revealed at the top of Mount Panorama leading into Bathurst weekend which runs from October 10-13.
