Chifley Police District Inspector David Abercrombie confirmed the break-in had occurred and caused "an amount of damage".
He said police believed it occurred some time between 9.30am on Friday and 2pm on Sunday.
Inspector Abercrombie said entry had been gained by smashing a ground-level window.

He also confirmed other windows were smashed during the incident.
He said forensic examinations had been done and police were investigating the incident, including following up with a group of people seen near the bowling club on Sunday afternoon.
The bowling club is currently up for sale after shutting down in February.
"It's absolutely disgusting someone could damage something that's been a part of the community for such a long time and has such history," she said.
She said it might make a sale of the building more difficult due to the damage.
She said the venue "needed work anyway" but had potential as a childcare centre or aged care facility.
