While the bulk of the awards will be decided by an independent judging panel, there are two awards that are determined by the general public, Bathurst's Favourite Business and Bathurst's Favourite Employee.
Bathurst Business Chamber marketing and events coordinator Simone Townsend said there were 160 entries across the awards this year, with more nominees for the popular categories than ever before.
To vote, people need to go to www.carillonbusinessawards.com and click on the vote button.
Ms Townsend said people needed to think carefully, as they can only cast one vote in each category.
Voting closes on Saturday, the same day as judging concludes for the other categories.
"Judging is going well. Some of our entries have already been returned and they will all be collated over the weekend," Ms Townsend said.
Businesses will get to see the outcomes of the judging on September 17 at the business chamber's finalist night, where the businesses in the running for awards at the gala dinner will be revealed.
The finalist night has been a very successful addition to the business awards experience.

"This is the third year that we have done finalists night," Ms Townsend said.
"Businesses are really appreciating it because they find out early on how they've gone and they know whether or not to bring the whole team to the gala dinner."
She added that it also gave them the opportunity to celebrate their success early.
The gala dinner will be held at Bathurst Goldfields on October 18. The venue is capable of holding 500 people, so a great crowd can come along to support the business community.
Tickets for the dinner will go on sale at the finalist night, which will be held at Bathurst RSL Club.
People need to RSVP to the finalist night ahead of time for catering purposes.
Ms Townsend said the chamber has arranged an "exciting" emcee for the gala dinner, and just who the special guest is will be revealed very soon.
