The contentious sale of the church by the Bathurst Anglican diocese to partially meet redress payments to the victims of child sexual abuse, caught the attention of ACA producers when former 60 Minutes cameraman and Carcoar resident Nicholas Lee made contact.

"60 Minutes agreed it was a good story and they then contacted A Current Affair. Ten minutes later I got a call from A Current Affair saying that this is an amazing story."
Church warden Ron Murray toured the church for two hours with the crew and said that he's holding out hope that the coverage will back the diocese into a corner.
"We planned to meet with them this week but they've already delayed that to mid October so hopefully they don't want anymore bad publicity about this," he said.
Carcoar Village Association vice-president Eric Foote said that the story would be broadcast early next week, and at this point Tuesday was most likely.
"Hopefully the publicity will generate some reaction from the Bathurst Anglican diocese and begin some discussions and talks about what we can do," he said.
