So to overcome the problem, she's produced her own skin care line, Sister Skin Care.
It's been a 12-month labour of love for the beauty therapist who owns Windsor Studio in George Street, but she said she's stoked with the results, adding it's been worth all the effort.
As a beauty therapist, she said she began looking into manufacturing her own skincare line after looking for skin solutions for her sister.
"My sister had problem skin and she'd tried everything, chemical peels and other products, but she couldn't find anything to maintain her skin's health.
"All she was getting was a quick fix, no long term solutions."
Unable to find any products she was happy with, Tiarna started researching what was available and found there was a lack of affordable products with organic, natural ingredients.
"I started making my own creams, playing with ingredients and sampling different products.
She also started talking with different manufacturers, and found one, based at the Gold Coast. She said the process was a long one, but is delighted with the result.
As part of her business development plan Tiarna met with Bathurst woman Amy Gullifer for social media and marketing advice.
That meeting turned out to be pivotal to her brand.
Ms Gullifer was so impressed with products, she became a partner!
"I was already looking for an organic skin care product to hit the market in the US, when Tiarna approached me," she said.
As soon as she tried the product, she loved it, and jumped on board.
The range has six products, a cleanser, exfoliant, toner mist, anti-aging serum, moisturiser and eye cream.
"I wanted a range that everyone could use whether you're a teenager, uni student or someone with mature skin," Tiarna said.
She said she also believed the price point, with the most expensive item in the range just $39, would make it an attractive alternative for people to consider.
She said while it's been a long process, she's very excited to be taking the next step.
"I love the idea of maintaining skin health, this range isn't about getting a quick fix for a problem, it's about longer term benefits," she said.
"The range is amazing, there's nothing nasty in it, everything is organic, and after you use it your skin feels so hydrated."
The range is being launched on October 3 and will be available at www.sisterskincare.com.au and also at Windsor Studio.
