I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with councillor John Fry ("Fry wants to change how councillors cast their vote", September 12) that the mayoral ballot should be secret.

This would allow councillors to make a considered choice without undue pressure and lobbying from other councillors, the media or anyone else.
Our councillors have been duly elected by the people of Bathurst. We should let them get on with making their decision in peace.
