"The Bathurst Art Fair provides an excellent opportunity for all artists to exhibit in a venue of high standing in the art world," Bathurst Regional Art Gallery Society president Max Wilson said.
"Not only that, it also provides an opportunity for art lovers to purchase fine works of art at reasonable prices. Many artists of renown have had their beginnings at such venues."
Now in its seventh iteration, the Bathurst Art Fair is an initiative of the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery Society Inc (BRAGS Inc). The event's primary purpose is to raise funds to purchase works for the gallery's permanent collection.
This year BRAGS celebrates 50 years of fundraising. In that time they have raised over $250,000 and purchased more than 150 artworks, including paintings, prints, drawings, ceramics, sculpture and video works for the permanent collection.
Since its inception in 2007, the Bathurst Art Fair has exhibited over 1600 works and achieved sales of $50,000.
