Deep in the Weeds is a collection of acrylic paintings that examine the rawness of the land at Duramana, north of Bathurst, and The Rocks.
Artist Ashlee Bucholtz feels a strong connection to the properties of the Healey and Suttor families, including 'Dry Creek' where her grandmother, Kate Healey, was raised.
The 32-year-old spent three months exploring the land and transforming what she found into a dozen pieces for the exhibition.
"Throughout my childhood, I heard stories about my nan riding bareback on horses, and about the polished dirt floors in the homestead," Ms Bucholtz said.
"I've had a yearning to see my heritage for myself, though I was careful not to romanticise it.

"What I witnessed was the harsh beauty and truth of what it is like to live on the land. There was no shortage of inspiration - things grow in places you would not expect. It was a beautiful experience."
Ms Bucholtz began her career studying nursing until the pull towards a creative profession became too great. She enrolled in a night-time drawing course, which started a six-year devotion to the study of art.
Ms Bucholtz is a graduate of the National Art School in Sydney.

Ms Bucholtz now lives and works in the Blue Mountains. She runs workshops that explore the possibilities of colour.
"Art is a language of its own, it's ageless," she said.
Deep in the Weeds will be open from 11am-4pm this Saturday and Sunday, September 28 and 29.
All pieces on display will be available to purchase.
