Press Box has given Bathurst trainer Dean Mirfin some amazing memories in a short space of time but she's out to deliver him the best one yet in this Saturday's $1.3 million The Kosciuszko at Royal Randwick.
This will be Mirfin's second time at a feature Randwick carnival in the space of two years after Cosmologist contested the Country Championships final in 2018.
But this race comes with nearly three times the prizemoney, plus the sweepstakes factor to the entry process, which brings it to a whole new level for the Bathurst trainer.
"It's exciting times. We're just trying to keep a lid on that and keep the routine going for the horse as normally as possible," Mirfin said.
"It's a really unique situation to be in, going for this sort of prizemoney against country horses. It's a rare opportunity.
"With the Country Championships there's multiple horses who get their opportunity in every area but this one's quite select so we're lucky to be there. It does add to the excitement."
Like that previous day at the Sydney turf Mirfin will be fielding a runner chasing victory against the odds.
Press Box has been hovering around the $26 mark for the race, which makes her one of the outside chances in a field stacked with the state's champion country horses.
Defending champion Belflyer, Country Championships winners Victorem and Noble Boy, Group 3 Tibbie Stakes runner-up Notation plus Country Championships runner-up Don't Give A Damn are among the star-studded field.

But there's reasons to consider Mirfin's Hinchinbrook mare a chance to cause an upset.
For starters, she's carrying the minimum 53 kilos, the lightest weight of any race in her career.
She's also had a recent run at Randwick when she finished third in a Highway Handicap first up.
"I think her price is a fair assessment," Mirfin said.
"There's horses in the race who have superior form compared to her but it doesn't mean we go there not thinking that we're a chance in the race, because she's a mare who's shown great form and has been very lightly raced.
"Her future is very bright. She might surprise a few people."
Since the jump across to Mirfin's stable Press Box has won five of six races, with her close third in the Highway Handicap her only miss.
She charged home to win the inaugural running of The Panorama at Tyers Park in her latest start - an ideal result to take into the biggest run of her career.
"She's got no weight, which is good, and she's only a small horse. And some of those better chances will have larger weights," Mirfin said.
"Before I'd got her she'd run some placings in Sydney as well so she's used to that kind of level. Her run at the Highway race was good because she wasn't at her peak then and she needed the run that day.
"She's going there at the right time with two races and a barrier trial under her belt."
Press Box was given a boost on Wednesday when she was handed barrier three.
The Kosciuszko is set to start at 2.50pm on Saturday.
