BOIDC round one, day one: Bulls and CYMS on top, Saints with work ahead of them

Pat's removed Cavs for 201 in the opening day of the new Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket competition but will go into the second day's play at SASC Scots Campus at 3-42.

Cant (3-29) and Fearnley (3-56) made a strong impression for the Saints with the ball while Cameron Laird was the star of the show for the Cavs with his 91.

Bailey Ferguson (42) and Laird put in 70 for the third wicket to get the visitors out of early danger.

Andrew Brown was out for 5 in his first game for the Saints while Angus Cumming removed both David (4) and Phil Cant (9) to have Pat's trouble not long into their innings.

Bailey Brien (16) and Josh Willcox (2) will be back out in the middle for Pat's this Saturday.

KYLE Aubin's opening knock of 69 runs has put Centennials Bulls in a strong position heading into the second day's play of their Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket game against City Colts.

Bulls kept Colts in the field at Morse Park 1 for 81 overs as the Centennials men made their way to 7-258 by the day's end.

Nathan Foran (53) played a strong supporting role for the Bulls until he was dismissed late in the day, while Blake Aubin (29), Joel Gurney (36) and Tyler Horton (22) also contributed to the total.

Foran and captain Kurt Toole gave the Bulls a late boost with the team at 6-199 when the skipper arrived at the crease.

It will be back to catching practice for the Colts after a number of dropped opportunities contributed to their lengthy day in the field.

Dave Giorgio was a bright spot for the Colts with his figures of 2-37 off 18 overs.

Kurt Toole (17) and Josh Toole (2) are the batsmen who will be at the crease this Saturday.

TOM Belmonte has the chance to notch his maiden first grade ton after working his way to 76 not out at stumps at Riawena Oval, with his CYMS side 2-145 in reply to Kinross' 191.

Belmonte and Dave Neil (50) put on a century stand for the second wicket to lift much of the pressure on CYMS going into this Saturday's second day of the Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket opening round clash.

Harry May's 59 provided the spark for Kinross but their lower order tumbled, losing their last six wickets for just 30 runs.

Luke J D'Elboux did the bulk of the damage with the ball for CYMS with his figures of 4-37.

Kinross made a promising start in the field when they removed Matt Baker for 7 but Belmonte and Neil went on with the job to put their side in a commanding position.
