The upgrade was a joint venture between the State Government, who gave $150,000 in funding and Bathurst Regional Council who put in $64,000. It was announced just under 12 months ago.
The funding was used to expand the current office space at the rear of the Hub, creating a new multi purpose room with a projector and smart board to provide a space for education and training.
Mayor of Bathurst Cr Bobby Bourke said council had a long standing association with the hub and said he was proud to see how it has grown over the years.
"There has been a lot of great work done out here,' he said.
Cr Bourke said the refurbishment had three elements and included a new multi purpose room, refurbished kitchen and additional storage space within the existing hall.
"The Hub's Breakfast Program is delivered from the new kitchen. This space allows young people to be involved in the preparation and delivery of their breakfast.
"The new kitchen also provides an opportunity for organisations to deliver a range of cooking programs and the multi purpose room presents many opportunities for business and organisations. The room caters for meetings, educational programs, office space as well as many other programs and services.
"The additional storage room will aid in the efficient delivery of programs in the existing hall as furniture can be sourced quickly and easily."
Cr Bourke also welcomed Housing Plus to the Community Hub.
"Housing Plus will be delivering their Opportunity Pathways program for the new multi purpose room for the next 12 months," he said.
Paul Toole, Member for Bathurst, said the benefits the Kelso Hub provide to the community cannot be underestimated.
Mr Toole said staff at the hub work with individual families on a number of fronts.
He said most importantly the hub was a place where people could make contact with others and talk about their lives, whats happening, and most importantly know that people are listening.
David Fisher, Housing Plus CEO, thanked both council and the State Government for their support in establishing the purpose built room which will be used by staff assisting clients looking for work and housing.
Mr Fisher said Housing Plus was delighted to be part of the Kelso Community Hub, and looks forward to working with the community for many years to come.
