The Bathurst Truckies' Ball has been run as a charity event for the past 25 years with all proceeds going to a local charity.
The ball has raised more than $400,000 in the past 25 years - an incredible achievement.
The organisers of the evening were greatly appreciative of the ongoing support from the Bathurst community and surrounds who succeeded in raising much-needed funds for the Riding for the Disabled local charity.
This year, special funds were also raised to help the Ballinger family.
Dane Ballinger was a Bathurst local who touched the hearts of many.
With his sad passing only a few weeks prior to the truckies' ball, it was decided by the organisers of the ball, and the trucking community, to which Dane dedicated so much of his love, that some funds be raised to aid his family in what is such a terrible time.
At the ball, committee members from when the ball was first founded were recognised, presented with a plaque and thanked for their dedication to helping organise and run the ball on an annual basis.
Thank you Robyn Owens, Kerry Menix, Mark Woods, Brett Fullthorpe, Amanda Briley, Jason Hayter.
As well, thank you to our current committee members Jason and Jayne Hayter, Aleisha Barnes, Lee-Ann and Jessie Hagney and Caroline Howel Blake.
Each year the highlight of the ball is to recognise drivers' achievements.
This year the Million Milers Award went to Rob Jones senior (deceased), whose award was accepted by his son Rob Jones; to Rob Jones himself; and to Graham Ryan.
Well done on such an amazing achievement.
The Matty Bonham Memorial Rookie of the Year went to two recipients, Josh Lidster and Mitch Hall.
The Geoff Martin Memorial went to Tim Lidster and Darren Hall.
Again, a massive congratulations to all the recipients.
Each year so many locals help sponsor the ball, donating gift vouchers, artworks, raffle items and many more valuable prizes that we are able to auction off and raise the much-needed funds for the selected charity each year.
We would like to give a big thank you to all those businesses, big and small, that donated this year.
It is very much appreciated.
