The Bathurst seamer, who was last summer's leading shield wicket-taker for the Blues, has been named alongside Australian Test talents Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon in the squad to face South Australia
Those three look a certainty to make the starting XI, while the other bowling slot looks a toss up between Harry Conway and Liam Hatcher.
Both men have been in good touch with Conway player-of-the-match in NSW's shield opening win, while Hatcher has claimed a five-wicket haul in every innings he has bowled for NSW Metro this season.
NSW has already posted wins over Queensland (five wickets) and Tasmania (eight wickets), with Copeland having claimed five scalps thus far with 3-57 his best haul.
