The Bathurst Shakespeare Players are set to return to the stage at Abercrombie House next Thursday for their upcoming production of The Merchant of Venice.

For six performances- November 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23- a bumper cast of local performers will play out the story of a Jewish moneylender who demands a pound of flesh from a Venusian merchant to settle a debt.
Director Bronwyn Colley said the performance will showcase a high-quality cast of local theatre performers.
"Audiences can expect a vibrant display of talented actors, music and colourful costumes," Ms Colley said.
"The play incorporates a variety of themes, including relationships, minority groups and conflict, within its comedic backbone."
Since 2014, the Bathurst Shakespeare Players have brought a variety of plays to life, including Twelfth Night, Macbeth and As You Like It.
Producer Christopher Morgan said the performances play a vital role in preserving the appeal of Abercrombie House for future generations.
"We present Shakespeare in a down-to-earth and entertaining way with a cast of clever local actors who love to bring these plays to life for us," Mr Morgan said.
Each performance will commence from 7pm. Tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 concession and $10 students.
