In NSW, people aren't allowed to park their vehicles within 10 metres of a corner without traffic lights.
Councillor Ian North said that this rule isn't being followed, particularly around schools in West Bathurst.

He raised the issue at this month's policy committee meeting of Bathurst Regional Council, saying it was a safety issue.
Speaking in more detail to the Western Advocate, Cr North said people were parking right on corners during school drop-off and pick-up times.
"A lot of cars I see around the west part of Bathurst, there's cars basically parked around the groove of a corner," he said.
Having cars parked right on a corner affects visibility, makes it difficult for people with disability or people pushing prams to get onto footpaths, and could lead to collisions as cars navigate corners.
"I've seen people nearly hit cars on occasions because they've come around the corner and there is a car right around the corner," Cr North said.

Members of the community have brought the issue to Cr North's attention before and he now feels it needs to be taken further.
The matter has been referred to council's traffic committee.
Cr North said installing no parking or no stopping signs may deter motorists from parking on corners, but council first had to investigate the issue further to see what the most appropriate solution is.
Motorist could also improve the situation by being prepared to park further away and allowing more time for this.
"It probably would help, and I know that people are time poor and I'm conscious of that, but when it comes down to it, it's about safety," Cr North said.
He said the last thing he or anyone else wants is for a child or parent hurt to be in an accident that could be prevented by obeying the law.
