TWO men remain in custody this morning following an allegation of sexual assault in Bathurst on Monday night.

The men were arrested at a unit block in Rocket Street after police were called to the scene when neighbours heard a woman screaming around 10pm.
Chifley Police District crime manager Detective Chief Inspector Luke Rankin said investigations into the incident were continuing and no charges had been laid.
He said the two men, aged 43 and 29, were assisting police with their inquiries.

"At about 10pm on Monday police received information that there was a female screaming for help inside a unit complex on Rocket Street," Detective Inspector Rankin said.
"Police rushed to that location and upon arrival could hear a woman inside the unit complex screaming.
"Police subsequently identified a particular unit inside the complex where they found a woman who was highly distressed and asking for help."
Detective Inspector Rankin said police commenced an investigation and arrested the two men, who were taken to Bathurst police station for further questioning.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old Bankstown man is due to appear in Bathurst Local Court later today following an alleged domestic violence incident on George Street on Monday evening.
Detective Inspector Rankin said police were called to Jack Duggan's about 7.50pm after witnesses reported a man had grabbed a woman from behind and was dragging her towards a car in a "choke-style hold".
"Members of the community intervened and the victim fled from the immediate vicinity," he said.
"Police attended and located the victim a short distance away and also spoke to several members of the community who had intervened.
"Police later located the alleged offender who was arrested and taken to Bathurst police station where he was charged with intentionally choking a person."
Detective Inspector Rankin said the victim and accused were well known to each other and police were treating the matter as a domestic violence incident.
He praised the actions of members of the public who intervened to help the woman during the incident.
