The five wicket success for Bathurst wasn't a flawless display but their perseverance in the face of danger is an encouraging sign for the team who also have wins against Orange and Dubbo to their name.
The hosts made life harder for themselves in Sunday's game with several errors at Morse Park, allowing a Cowra team still on the hunt for their first win to post a total of 242 from their 50 overs.
Both Mick Curtale (60) and Jacob McNaught (48) were given lives early in their respective knocks and duly punished Bathurst for the missed chances.
Ben Schofield was pivotal for the Cowra men as he top scored with 73.
Following an early scare with the bat Bathurst recovered thanks to an 85-run partnership between captain Adam Ryan (47) and Henry Shoemark (39).
The early departures of Imran Qureshi (7) and Jaden Ekert (9) left Bathurst in a precarious spot at 2-35 but Ryan and Shoemark's partnership not only stabilised the innings, it kept proceedings ticking along at the required rate.
However, The breakup of that partnership saw a downturn in the run rate through the middle of the innings, with the next eight overs going at just a run rate of 1.6.
Things came to life again for Bathurst when eventual top scorer Wayne Sellers (71 not out) and Connor Slattery (30) put on a quick hitting stand to ease the pressure.
The pair scored at just short of nine runs an over in their last eight overs together to see Bathurst to within six runs of the target.

Dave Sellers (7 not out) joined his brother at the crease with just over three overs to spare and only spent a handful of deliveries at the crease before finding the winning boundary.
"We got the desired result. It's not the way you probably like to do it but you live and learn. It's good for the boys to adapt to the situation of the game and keep us in a strong situation the whole way through," Ryan said.
"If we take our catches earlier we restrict that score but by the same token they dropped a couple of catches off us which kept us in the game. It's one of those cliches but catches win matches and at this level there were a few today that we should have been swallowing up.
"Cowra really made a good game of it and I'm so proud that everyone stood up at different moments of the game and contributed to the win.
"We're off until next year so it's great to have that momentum going into the break. We'll hopefully keep building and give ourselves a good chance to be in the final."
Slattery's recent all-round form continued with team-best figures of 3-42, eventually snaring the big wickets of Schofield and Curtale.
Ethan Ivory (2-31), Mitch Taylor (2-52) and Dave Henderson (1-55) were the other wicket takers while Matt Fearnley went for just 33 runs from his 10 overs.
In Sunday's other matches Midwest accounted for Parkes by 37 runs and Dubbo were too strong for Orange in a 74 run victory.
Bathurst can secure their place in the final with a win at Mudgee against Midwest on January 19.
