The Plan B campaign will offer patrons a chance to win a $250 swag at 49 pubs, clubs and bottle shops across the Bathurst and Blayney local government areas [LGA's] throughout December.
Central Tablelands road safety officer Andrew Cutts said the aim of the initiative is to get patrons thinking about vital alternatives to drink-driving.
"To enter, all patrons have to do is leave their name, contact details and 'Plan B' at the counter of their establishment," Mr Cutts said.
"It's especially important to plan your night out in regional areas, as there's fewer options for public transport."
Mr Cutts said while the introduction of roadside breath testing [RBT] has helped curb drink-drivers, there's still too many people taking the risk.
"It's important to hold your mates accountable for their actions," he said.
"Drink-driving is a serious issue in regional NSW, and the more preventative measures we can take as a community, the less we endanger road users."
Alcohol-related crashes caused 64 fatalities on NSW roads last year, including 52 in country areas.
Panthers Bathurst duty manager Matt Seaman said the venue always encourages patrons to consider alternative plans.
"We offer a courtesy bus on busy nights, and we're very vigilant at this time of year where Christmas parties are a common occurrence," Mr Seaman said.
Swag winners will be drawn on New Year's Eve.
