For many they will be happy memories, for many not-so-happy.
But most of us will recall the stress we felt going though the HSC and the belief that success in one lot of exams would shape the rest of our lives.
How did that turn out for you? How many of us are today doing what we imagined we would be doing years after finishing school?
Some (me included) would still be in the career they started straight out of school but that is becoming more and more the exception rather than the rule.
Careers analysts predict today's school leavers will have four or five different careers in their working lives and a growing proportion of school leavers will end up working in jobs that don't even exist yet.
