Horton gave some much needed life to the Bulls' innings on Saturday against Kinross as his 87 helped the team recover from their 3-31 start, eventually leading them to a total of 175 against the students.
His knock included an explosive section where he put on 33 runs in the space of just 12 deliveries.
Horton, who came across to Bulls from Rugby Union this season, has now scored back-to-back half centuries after hitting 59 against Orange City last round.
It's his highest top grade score since his unbeaten 100 late in the 2017-18 season.
Horton's great day also carried over to the field, where he found a wicket with just his fourth ball of the day.
Bulls will be in a great position when Kinross resumes their innings at 3-54.
Horton's big performance was even more impressive on a Kinross Oval wicket showcasing its ability to have a mind of its own.
"We had a few early wickets so I wasn't going to go too crazy. I just tried to play myself in and tried to get a good total for the team. A couple of the boys hung around with me for a little bit which helped," Horton said.
"The bounce was variable. Some were staying low while others were still going through.
"Before we started we probably would have wanted more runs but with how the deck played I think it was a pretty reasonable total."

He eventually chopped on to his stumps off the bowling of Harry May but not before leaving his team at 7-159.
Bulls would have been disappointed not to reach the 200 mark but they've already made a great start with the ball.
Kyle Aubin had Will Luelf (0) trapped in front with just the third ball of the innings before Tim May (12) and Alex Brien (4) fell in quick succession.
Horton has now amassed 11 wickets for the season, making him the Bulls' highest wicket taker in 2019-20 to date.
"I'm really enjoying with playing with all the boys," Horton said of his club switch.
"They've been really supportive and made me feel welcome."
