Paris Morrison, Lillian Nairne and Rachael Brawley each sat the HSC this year as part of SSC's Year 12 cohort, and found the school's study environment a refreshing alternative from mainstream schooling.
"I came across some difficulties studying for the HSC as I was completing additional university subjects at the same time," Paris said.
"However, the non-ATAR English course wasn't as difficult as the advanced or extension alternatives."
Lillian said she found the guidance of teachers beneficial to her studies.
"I expected the HSC to be difficult, but there was always a teacher to help with any subject," she said.
"The teachers were always approachable and ready to answer all our questions."
Rachael said the experience helped alleviate the pressures of staying on task outside of school.
"The teachers opened up a classroom for Year 12 students to study together, and they regularly stopped in to offer some sound words of advice," she said.
"It made studying a lot easier."
All three graduates were satisfied with their HSC results, and attributed SSC's student-centric atmosphere to their success.
"It's harder for some students in mainstream schooling due to the busier environment, whereas SSC allows for more constructive student-teacher interactions," Paris said.
"No one gets left behind here, there's always someone to help," Rachael added.
"We're like a big family, and there's zero discrimination on the grounds of academic ability," Lillian added.
SSC is set to commence a two-year study next month to develop a series of effective management strategies for student mental health.
The project will aim to implement, measure, and assess three strategies - exercise, resilience training and occupational therapy.
The three girls agree that SSC's teachers put student wellbeing before everything else.
"If someone is not in a great mindset and needs some time off, the school is 100 per cent behind them," Paris said.
"The teachers work closely with us to seek out the required support services if we don't attend class due to mental health reasons, they're very understanding," Lillian added.
With further education on the cards for the three graduates, they all agree their education at SSC has put them in good stead for their respective futures.
