Lifeblood is an initiative of the Australian Red Cross, and sees a host of registered nurses administer mobile donation services in various locations throughout Australia.
Australian Red Cross registered nurse Judi Yeo said there has been a positive response from the Bathurst community across the summer period thus far.
"Our first two days were fully booked out, and we're expecting many more appointments in the coming weeks," Ms Yeo said.
"We won't be open on public holidays, so it's important to collect as much blood as we can outside these days."
Ms Yeo said it's important for those eligible to roll up their sleeves and donate blood for patients battling cancer, anaemia and other applicable conditions.
"One in three people will need blood or blood products in their lifetime, yet only one in 30 donate blood," she said.
"We're appreciative of clients with the universal blood type [O negative], but all blood donors are welcome."
It is recommended to book an appointment in advance and for more information, visit donateblood.com.au.
