Mirfin's chance started as the $2.70 favourite in the JB Concreting F&M Maiden Handicap (1100 metres) and the four-year-old bay mare never looked in danger cruising to victory ahead of Rocquette and Harabel, who finished second and third respectively.
It was just the third start for Mont Genep under the training of Mirfin, having changed training from Lyn Tolson and Leonie Proctor prior to her start at Bathurst on November 16.
Since coming into Mirfin's stable, Mont Genep has enjoyed three successful runs, running third at Bathurst in November, a third at Wellington earlier this month and her maiden victory on Monday.
Before the move to Bathurst, Mont Genep had started in six races, picking up the one placing - a third place at Seymour, Victoria.
She also had other starts at Victorian tracks including Mornington, Ballarat, Cranbourne and Sale between November, 2018, and September, 2019, before making the move to Mirfin's Bathurst stable.
Mirfin had previously enjoyed victory in the first race of Monday's meeting, with Matthew Cahill guiding Tale of the Kraut to a narrow win - only 0.16 of a metre separating first and second - over Brett Thompson's Denace to claim a third career victory for the handy four-year-old bay mare.
