The releases ranged from debut albums, to long-awaited EP's, follow-up records and a charity Christmas compilation.
It all started with the release of Smith & Jones' second record, Something Worth Learning, in March, with the album's launch event attracting 350 people to The Victoria Bathurst.
The album marked a slight departure from the duo's country roots for a greater focus on folk and adult contemporary influences.
In April, Tempermore released their long-awaited debut EP, Diversity, featuring the group's tasteful penchant for funk, rock and blues.
While the group would eventually go on hiatus shortly after, they spent half a decade helping bring some attention to original rock music in the Central West.
June saw Andy Nelson release his debut album, Man on the Mountain, featuring nine songs of serenely crafted folk.
Nelson launched the album to a packed audience at The Victoria's Little Alberts room, and produced an emotive music video for the single 'Late Night Letter' in Portland.
While all this was going on, Kris Schubert [The Safety of Life at Sea] was putting the finishing touches on a collaborative Christmas album to raise funds for Lifeline Central West.
The album, entitled Dreaming of a Green Christmas, featured the talents of 34 Central West musicians on 18 original songs highlighting Australia at Christmas.
Meanwhile, Genni Kane launched an album in November sharing her thoughts and conversations from the kitchen table.
A launch event for Songs From the Kitchen Table was held at Club Millthorpe and was well received by all in attendance.
Finally, Robbie Mortimer launched his debut album, The Fall of March, in front of a supportive crowd of 200 at his family's winery [Mortimers Wines] in December.
2019 was a productive year for original music in the Central West, and with plenty of musicians working on new material, 2020 is looking just as promising.
