Cameron, 17, was selected to participate in the Talent Development Project [TDP] in Sydney last year, and is currently one of seven students state-wide involved in the musical theatre category.
For his February workshop, Cameron has been tasked to organise a ticketed concert of his work to gain an insight into the business side of performing arts.
But rather than put the funds into his own career, Cameron has decided to support local firefighters instead.
"We were allowed to do whatever we wanted with the proceeds, and I decided to support local RFS volunteers as they need all the help they can get," he said.
"In addition, local RFS volunteers will have free entry to the event."
Cameron has performed around Bathurst for a number of years, both as a performer at community events and as a member of the Carillon Junior Theatrical Society [CJTS].
The event, entitled RFScape, will showcase Cameron's love of contemporary music and musical theatre.
"I'll be performing everything from Disney classics to more serious numbers out of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon," Cameron said.
Cameron will be accompanied by Abby Smith [Smith & Jones] for his musical theatre numbers, and the event will also feature a performance by Lily Morgillo.
"At TDP, we're currently learning about how to promote events and build a media profile, so I hope to gain a lot of experience from this event," he said.
"I'm very thankful for Bathurst High in giving me the opportunity to stage this event."
Past TDP graduates include Human Nature, Angus & Julia Stone, John Foreman and David Harris.
RFScape will take place at Bathurst High's Performing Arts Theatre on Thursday, February 6 from 6.30pm. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children and are available via StickyTickets.
