Mitchell was able to chase down Blacktown Black's 9-150 after a stellar performance from Newton with the ball, with the youngster claiming 4-23 from seven overs in the Orange-hosted tournament.
Mac Hutchings snared 2-20 from his seven overs before top-scoring with the bat as Mitchell hit 3-151 with more than 10 overs to spare.
Hutchings hit an unbeaten 40 as Archie Griffith (36), Toby Middleton (35) and Newton (29) all chimed in with runs in the chase.
Meanwhile, twin tons headlined the clash between Inner West Harbour and Parramatta 1 at the Country Club oval as Tom Bermingham and Abhinav Kamsali both hit centuries.
West Harbour's Bermingham hit 122 to set up a total of 3-241, with the former whacking 19 fours in his 119-ball knock, which proved enough to overcome the Parramatta side.
Kamsali gave it his all in the chase, hitting 20 deliveries to the boundary from the 119 he faced on the way to 128, but didn't have enough support. His side finished on 6-213 in reply.
Orange Barbarians prevailed in a final-ball thriller Will Rodwell found the boundary on the final delivery to claim a one-run win over Bankstown.
His heroics with the bat came after taking 2-14 with the ball, matching the figures of Matthew McKenna to hold Bankstown to 8-152.
Despite losing Lachlan Boyd to a third-ball duck, McKenna (47) and Johnty French (37) put on 79 for the second wicket to set the platform, but three run-outs towards the end of the innings made for the tight finish, with James Harper caught off the fifth last ball to bring Rodwell to the crease.

He couldn't get his first four balls away, but the final ball found its way to the rope to clinch a three-wicket win.
An even performance with the bat wasn't enough as Penrith fell agonisingly short of Blacktown Gold on the Sally Kennett oval at Kinross.
A late-innings charge by Hayden Cloverdale, who hit 47 from 45 after his side slumped to 8-116, pushed the Blacktown total to 144 all out, which proved two runs too many for Penrith.
Parramatta was too strong for Orange after a 71-run stand between Gurmehar Singh (57) and Jayden Wood (37) lifted their total on a dry and dusty Anzac Park to 7-184 from their 40 overs.
Orange slipped to 7-52 in reply before Oli Jarick and Harry Brazier steadied the ship, but the side were dismissed for just 98 from 28 overs, with Jarick's 29 the top score.
A North Shore collapse let Dubbo put together a meticulous seven wicket win on the Kinross main oval, with Nate Bayliss' 33 accounting for more than half the total of 57 set by the Sydney side.
Venkata Sandugula top scored with 22 for North shore, but the side lost its last seven wickets for just nine runs as Austin Hunt (3-8) and Archie Morgan (3-6) tore into what proved to be a long tail.
Sydney Invitational XI nabbed a 10-run win after making 174, which Radford College ran out of time to chase down in Molong, while Kynan Barton's 69 helped South Coast overcome North West Sydney by 97 runs.
