The forecast was bullish early last week that Bathurst was in for days of sustained rain and there was a promising start when there were falls on Wednesday night and Thursday.
Friday, Saturday and up to 5pm on Sunday did not produce any rain in the city, however, and it's only the possible thunderstorms on Monday that remain before dry weather returns for the rest of the week.
The change in conditions has, however, given Bathurst a reprieve from the well above average summer temperatures.
The city got to only 23 degrees on Thursday, 22.5 degrees on Friday and 24 degrees on Saturday - below the long-term average for December of 28 degrees and well down on the average for this month so far of almost 33 degrees.
Maximums are set to return to the early to mid 30s from Wednesday on, according to the forecast.
