The dam had fallen to just 30.6 per cent capacity when the weekly reading was taken by Bathurst Regional Council on Tuesday, a drop of 0.6 per cent on the previous week.
Under council's drought management plan, the next level of water restrictions will come into effect once the dam reaches 29 per cent.

At that point residents will only be allowed to water their gardens using a watering can or bucket.
A restriction on watering gardens only on Wednesdays and Sundays between 6pm and 9pm, for a maximum of 30 minutes, will continue.
Tuesday's fall in the dam level came despite a number of showers across the region over the past week.
The Bureau of Meteorology has recorded 23mm of rain across the Bathurst region between January 20-27 and a total of 48.4mm since the start of the month.
Meanwhile, a red level alert for blue green algae remains in place at Ben Chifley Dam.
The dam is closed to recreational users.
