THE BENTLEY and HubAuto teams are in a race against time to rebuild their cars before Bathurst 12 Hour qualifying after big crashes in the final minute of practice at Mount Panorama on Saturday morning.

Oliver Jarvis, behind the wheel of the #8 Bentley, suffered a suspected brake issue at The Chase, short-cutting the corner and crashing heavily into the tyre barrier.
The rear of the car looks extensively damaged and will be a challenge to repair before the qualifying at 12.40pm on Saturday.
At the same time, the #27 HubAuto Ferrari backed into the McPhillamy Park concrete, damaging the rear of the car. Daniel Serra slid through the gravel trap after losing control.
It wasn't the only moment of trouble for the #27 car, having made contact with the #777 Mercedes at The Chase around 20 minutes earlier in the session.
Those two incidents added further drama to the final practice session after the first 20 minutes ticked by under red flag conditions due to kangaroos on the circuit.

Audi Sport Team Valvoline and driver Dries Vanthoor set the pace in the #2 Audi with a best lap time of 2:03.4430, set with seven minutes to go.
Down by only a tenth of a second, Andrea Caldarelli in the #62 Orange 1 FFF Racing Lamborghini set a 2:03.5490 in the at the halfway point in the session.
Benjamin Barker was fastest in the Pro-Am class and fourth overall in the #4 Grove Porsche with a 2:04.2030.
Most teams ran both qualifying preparation and race programs to get themselves ready for their bids to earn a place in Saturday afternoon's top 10 shootout.
