A SEVERE thunderstorm that passed across the region on Sunday afternoon brought some much-needed rain, although some locations were luckier than others.

The warning was issued by the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) at 3.01pm and it brought heavy rain to some parts of the region.
Parkes received by far the most rain, with 24.0 millimetres falling between 3.15pm and 4pm.
By 7am on Monday, rainfall had also been recorded in Bathurst (7.6mm) Lithgow (6.6mm), Dubbo (5.4mm), Orange (3.4mm) and Mudgee (1.6mm) on Sunday afternoon.
More rain is predicted for the region this week, with showers possible from Thursday to Sunday.
Meanwhile, data from the BoM shows that six towns in the region recorded above average rainfall during January.
