The Engineering Faculty at Charles Sturt University was the venue for the college's annual academic excellence awards night, with 76 of the college's best students receiving awards.
Denison College relieving principal Michael Sloan said the high achievers came from both campuses and included students who were all rounders and those who were receiving principal awards and academic excellence prizes.
The top three students from Years 7-9 and top 10 students from Years 10-12 from 2019 were all invited to attend, along with 2019 HSC candidates who achieved one or more Band 6 results or four or more Band 5 results.

Mr Sloan said the awards night was held at the beginning of the new school year to start the year in a positive way.
"Each campus has its own awards evening but this one is a really good one to bring everyone together," he said.
With a combined enrolment of around 2000 students across the two campuses, Mr Sloan said to be one of the 76 students receiving an reward something for them to treasure.
"To be in the top three students in the cohort, these are students who are really committed to hard work and need to be recognised for their dedication."
Mr Sloan said the night's guest speaker, Tracey Callinan from Arts Out West, was "just outstanding" and a great role model and for the students.
"She is a really important leader in the community with a message that really gave the students something to think about," he said.
"She spoke about how crucial creativity is, as is the need for collaboration and seeking every opportunity available to you at school and beyond.

Mr Sloan said the students who received their awards were justifiably proud on the night and said their efforts were also an inspiration to other students to continue to achieve their best.
He said the college is committed to mentoring these students so they can continue to extend themselves in a framework of support.
He thanked staff at both campuses who he said were exceptional in providing gifted and talented students an additional layer of support, so they can continue to achieve at that high level.
But, at the end of the day, he said it was all about the students.
"We are so proud of those students, to achieve at that level not only takes intelligence, but their approach to their work and the commitment they make is fantastic," he said.
"As a college we are proud of what they achieve."
