The first stage of rollout focused on the central business district, with council-funded cameras installed in the busiest areas of William, Keppel, Russell, Howick and Bentinck streets.
Now council is due to start work on Monday on second stage of the project which will include areas of George Street, Piper Street and Havannah Street, and also Machattie Park.

The second stage of the project includes the expansion of the control centres, laying of fibre and the installation of 10 new cameras.
Mayor Bobby Bourke said the CCTV scheme was aimed at increasing safety and deterring crime and anti-social behaviour.
"Works will commence on Monday, February 10 with the location of existing underground services in sections of Russell and Rankin Streets and underboring to commence shortly after," Cr Bourke said.
"Underboring will take approximately 12 to 16 weeks to complete followed by cabling and camera installation works."
"While the underboring is underway, there will be an impact on parking. A truck and trailer will be parked in the street at the pit entry and exit point. These vehicles will take approximately six car parks.
"The system is expected to go live in June."
The CCTV project has been funded with $400,000 from the Federal Government and $250,000 from council.
The first stage of the project was commissioned in July last year and came after years of lobbying of council by local businesses and the police.
