The Bathurst District Football graduate has sported a mullet for several seasons now and has drawn plenty of laughs from players and fans but it's also, surprisingly, caused controversy.
When representing the Socceroos at the Asian Cup back in January 2019, Grant was actually required to get his mullet approved by the Asian Football Confederation because tournament host - the United Arab Emirates - ban unusual haircuts or colouring by it's football association.
So when it comes to reviewing iconic haircuts of former Socceroos, it seems fitting that Grant should be doing the critiquing.
Speaking to the Socceroos media, Grant went through several ex-Australian internationals and share his opinion on their haircuts.
"Firstly we've got Tony Carbone [from 1993]. I don't mind it, I had a pretty ordinary, long barnet. I don't mind his, but I wouldn't mind it being a bit shorter on the side," Grant said.
"Current Perth Glory coach Tony Popovic, the goatee [in 2001]. I don't mind that but if I had that, I'd probably look like a bikie. It kind of suits Popa."
Grant was totally in love with Peter Tsekenis' mullet from 1994.
"Holy smokes, that's a beauty. That takes the cake for me," he said.
"That's a lot better than mine. Much more luscious, a bit more length. That's a proper mullet, real freakish. I'm really happy with that."
No doubt Grant enjoyed seeing former Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold's rocking both a mo and a mullet in 1990.
"It's got some good curls, a bit of a perm," he said.
"He always gives me a bit of stick about my mullet but I always bring up this photo and tell him he can't give me too much."
And is Grant going to give us his iconic mullet anytime soon?
"A mullet is a pretty iconic haircut in Australia and a lot of Socceroos have had it, so to join the club is pretty cool," he said.
"For me, to jump on that I'm pretty stoked, so I'll keep the mullet a little bit longer."
