Ten break and enters, or attempts to break and enter have been reported to police, with houses from all over the city targeted.
Chifley Police District crime manager Chief Inspector Luke Rankin urged people to make sure their homes are secure, and said if people see someone acting suspiciously, to call police straight away.
He said following an alleged home invasion in Ross Street earlier this month, police stepped up patrols in residential areas across the city. As a result one man was arrested in an unrelated break and enter in Governors Place earlier in the month.
Chief Inspector Rankin said additional patrols will continue throughout the city, but reminded the community they are the eyes and ears of police, and if they see something that looks suspicious, to contact police straight away.
Among the reports made to police this week include two break and enters in Tandora Street and an attempted break and enter in Gilmour Street, Kelso. Police believe the three incidents are related.
