Harmony Day is held annually in Australia on March 21. It is a day to celebrate Australia's diversity and a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home - from the traditional owners of this land to those who have come from many countries around the world. A free Bathurst Harmony Day event will be held from 10am to midday in the library/art gallery forecourt.
This year's Bathurst Multicultural Storytelling Festival includes a Storytelling Competition: Photography and Writing. Submit one photo on the theme of "Connection" or a written story on the theme of "How I Got Here" (500 to 1000 words). Prizes for each competition are $250 for first prize and $100 for second prize, plus a people's choice award. Deadline is Tuesday, March 17. The winners of the writing competition prizes will be announced at the Bathurst Multicultural Storytelling Festival at the How I Got Here event on Saturday, March 21 from 3pm to 6pm at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (see www.bathurststorytelling.com for event details) and the photography competition winners will be announced at the festival at the social connection event on Friday, March 20 at 5pm. The Holy Trinity Kelso Market Day will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 9am to 1pm at the Parish and Community Centre at 81 Gilmour Street. There will be coffee, cakes, books, clothing, bargains for blokes, craft, pick a leaf, a white elephant stall, a barbecue, refreshments, jewellery and a chocolate wheel, as well as plenty of parking.

Fast Ed from Better Homes And Gardens will be the guest speaker at this year's Sustainable Living Expo on Saturday, March 28. The expo will be held from 8am to 1pm and will run in conjunction with Bathurst Farmers' Markets. The event will feature a range of exhibitions, workshops, an interactive children's show promoting water conservation and the return of the popular Shoalhaven Zoo to You.
