The Bathurst Indoor Sports Stadium will host the boys and girls under 14s, 16s and 18s on Saturday and Sunday, with the under 12s boys and girls will be at Lithgow.
Bathurst Goldminers Basketball committee member Troy Hogarth is encouraging the local community to come down and support the players.
"It's a free event and we have local teams in under 14s, 16s and 18s this weekend, in both boys and girls," he said.
"We probably have about 300-400 kids coming from across the Western region, from Bathurst, Orange, Lithgow, Gilgandra, Narrandera, West Wyalong, Leeton and Griffith.
"We'll have referees from those associations too."
Hogarth hopes the tournament will help raise the profile of basketball in Bathurst.

"We want people to learn about Bathurst rep basketball, whether they're interested in playing, supporting us or joining the committee and helping out.
"We also want to provide opportunities for the community to come and watch youth basketball here for free, rain, hail or shine."
Hogarth said the tournament will provide a massive economic boost to the town.
"It's great for the town because we have all those people coming from all those towns with their families and they have to stay, because the games are played over the whole weekend," he said.
"They bring revenue to the town by paying for accommodation, fuel, food."
Games start from 8am on Saturday and will run through to Sunday afternoon.
Competing teams include the Gilgandra Windmills, Dubbo Rams, Orange Eagles, Lithgow Lazers, Griffith Demons, Leeton Eagles, West Wyalong Wildcats and the Narrandera Knights.
