Bathurst supporters of the Extinction Rebellion movement are set to stage a second silent protest this Saturday in front of federal member for Calare Andrew Gee's office to call for greater action on climate change.

The protest will follow a similar event held in the same spot last Saturday, which was inspired by Orange's campaign on February 22.
Bathurst Community Climate Action Network [BCCAN] president Jack Fry said any interested member of the community is invited to support the protest.
"As a country, we are not even close to 'getting there' on climate action, and these protests play a vital role in helping get the message across to the key policy makers," Mr Fry said.
"So many members of the community are frustrated and anxious about the inaction on climate, and these silent protests provide a comfortable environment for people to express their concerns."
Action on climate change has grown in support in the Bathurst community in recent years, with more than 200 people attending a CBD march last September.
In light of the current phenomenon around the coronavirus outbreak, Mr Fry is imploring the community to not detract from the climate change debate.
"There's a lot of misinformation in the media around climate change, and various companies have been releasing false climate date for years to further their economic agendas," he said.
"In addition, people 'google' what they want to believe, and 'shock jocks' lure listeners in with their convincing conveyance of biased information."
Last Saturday's protest was arranged by local resident Bruce Andrews, who said a tally was kept on responses from passing drivers.
"We received 53 positive responses as opposed to 19 negative ones," Mr Andrews said.
"We're not chanting or abusing the government, we're simply calling for immediate climate action."
The protest will start at 9.30am and go for an hour.
