BUSINESSES across the region are doing it tough, but the message is for those not yet in lockdown, we're here, we're open and together we will get through this this.
Owner of Macquarie Medi Spa, in both Bathurst and Orange, Karla McDiarmid, confirmed on Monday her businesses would continue to operate.
"Yes we are open until the government says we can't."
Ms McDiarmid said despite the uncertainly, businesses need to stay positive for their families and employees.
"I see this as an opportunity to improve my business, I see it as an opportunity to all become more resilient in life.
"We can do this together and get through this in small business and I love the idea 'stronger together.'"
She said for both her businesses, staff have employed the highest possible hygiene protocols ensuring not only the safety of clients, but staff and the community at large.
Ms McDiarmid said the changes include phoning clients 24 hours ahead asking if they have symptoms, giving every person who enters the business sanitisers and asking guests not to bring children and friends to appointments to ensure waiting areas are as hygienic as possible.
She said staff are wearing face masks as they work within the 1.5 metre distancing rules, and disinfecting surfaces including phones, EFTPOS, door handles more often.
"We aim to stay open and continue to work for as long as we can, we also have plans in place to create a new online team training portal and we have lots of team training we can do in the event we get quieter.
"But for now our teams jobs are safe, we are still really busy and it's business is as usual."
"If all business's can practice good hygiene and show customers they are a safe place to visit -we should all be still able to operate for as long as possible," she added.
