The new policy was introduced across the state on Monday by Greyhound Racing NSW along with the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission.
As part of the safety strategy, all participants and staff attending any NSW greyhound race meeting will be temperature tested at the entry gate, before being allowed entry.
The joint initiative is the latest strict biosecurity measure to be put in place for the health and safety of everyone attending NSW greyhound race meetings.

Kennerson Park Track Manager, Jason Lyne said the testing will be conducted at each of the 11 venues which conduct meetings under the revised GRNSW regional zoning schedule.
Once successfully tested, everyone receives a wristband to show they have safely entered the venue without having an elevated temperature.
If a participant displays an elevated temperature, they will have the opportunity for a second test, 10 minutes later, and if their temperature reading is still elevated, they will be denied entry and their greyhound will be declared a late scratching.
If a Race Club or GWIC staff member displays an elevated temperature, they will have the opportunity for a second test, 10 minutes later, and if their temperature is still elevated, they will also be denied entry and immediately stood down from the meeting and sent home.
Mr Lyne welcomed the new safety measure, saying it was vital everyone did what they could to stop the spread of COVID-19.
"It's just something we can do to protect people, another safety measure we can put into place," he said.
He said a lot of trainers and people involved in greyhounds were retired, and being older, they had to look out for them.
He congratulated Greyhound Racing NSW and the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission on the initiative.
