Easter has always been a special time in Bathurst, and one of the busiest periods on the calendar.
The long weekend has always been a chance to catch up with family and friends, either welcoming them to Bathurst or taking a trip to the coast for a few days to recharge the batteries.
But not this year.
Strict travel restrictions aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19 mean we'll be staying put this Easter, isolating at home with only our immediate family.
There will be no day trips, no picnics in the park and no lazy afternoon barbecues with friends.
Police and politicians have been on the front foot in recent days urging visitors to simply stay away.
That messaging has turned 180 degrees since regional centres were crying out for visitors following two years of drought followed by the summer's devastating bushfires, but these are extraordinary times.
Bathurst churches will also look different this Easter.
Local churches have always welcomed large congregations over the Easter weekend, and particularly Easter Sunday as Christians celebrate the risen Christ that is central to their faith.
But not this year.
Churches will be almost empty as parishioners are instead asked to stay home and tune in to one of the many live-streamed services that local church leaders are organising.
And Mount Panorama will look different, as well.
Recent years have seen the Bathurst 6 Hour slowly growing in popularity on the motor racing circuit and the event is building its own niche across the Easter long weekend.
But not this year.
The coronavirus crisis has touched nearly every corner of our lives and the way we celebrate Easter is just another.
But it could be worse, so much worse.
Surely, for most of us, the prospect of a quiet four days at home with those nearest and dearest to us is something to celebrate in itself.
Every cloud has a silver lining, and the chance to take a real break this Easter is one this virus' few gifts to us all.
It's a gift too good to pass up.
