Several local events have already been confirmed to be online from May 1-3, however, all the events that were to be streamed from the Sydney Writers' Festival have been cancelled.
Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre creative producer Kylie Shead said everyone involved had been working hard to make sure as many events as possible happen.
"All the readers and writers involved have just been so thrilled that we're trying to do it," she said.
"Everyone has been very generous with everything and how we've changed things.
"We basically had the program set and ready to go, but now we've had to change things around but everyone has been lovely about it."
Events are likely to be through Zoom, shared on BMEC's Facebook page.
"It's a bit of a learning curve because I've never had to worry about running things like a Zoom webinar," Ms Shead said.
"We've all been practising. It's good to learn something as we go and hopefully our audience will be very generous if we make mistake."
The popular Great Festival Read panel will occur, with participants reading from The Yield by Tara June Winch.
BMEC is also partnering with the Bathurst Library to do a special storytime on Saturday morning.
And local poets will also be sharing some of their works on the Saturday afternoon.
The events confirmed for the festival include:
