That is the approach star Bathurst triathlete Tasmyn Moana-Veale is taking as she adapts to the suspension of racing due to the coronavirus.
Adapting is something Moana-Veale has done plenty of times during her career - she has overcome a series of stress fractures and mental challenges.
So when Triathlon Australia withdrew event sanctioning for all racing up until the end of April in response to the coronavirus pandemic, Moana-Veale had to change her plans.
She has continued to train - albeit in a different fashion than usual - so she will be ready if racing resumes.
I think the key thing at the moment is listen to your coach.

"I've got the indoor trainer set up and then I'm also able to still run outside, I do run and I just do that individually to follow government guidelines," she said.
"We are also able to do open water, so we are quite lucky there and we'll keep doing that as long as possible."
Triathlon Australia will reassess the situation at the end of the month. At this stage the organisation has delayed releasing the full the 2020-21 calendar.
"I think the key thing at the moment is listen to your coach, take things a little bit chill if you need and just try and stay happy," Moana-Veale said.
