Perthville Metro's Shiva Kasturi, said they were able to bring the prices down this low as it is much cheaper for them to buy fuel at the moment.
He knows many families are doing it tough, with the coronavirus pandemic impacting jobs in the community, so they wanted to do what they could to help.
"We're trying to help our community, the Perthville people. They are very loyal to us," Mr Kasturi said.
In addition to the signage out the front of the petrol station, Mr Kasturi has also let people know about the reduced prices via Facebook.
It has generated a great response online and seen more customers come through the doors of the Metro.
"We posted it on online and people are writing comments and sharing it themselves on Facebook," Mr Kasturi said.
"People are coming in and just saying 'Your pricing, you are doing good' and stuff like that."
He said he didn't know how long prices will stay under a $1, as it depends on the global market.
This is not the first time the Metros have tried to support the community through the two businesses, which are both owned by Sri Rangineni.
On Australia Day, a barbecue was held in Perthville to support the NSW Rural Fire Service during the bushfire crisis and it raised $2000.
In addition to this, both Metros have a history of being among the cheapest fuel retailers in Bathurst.
